Veikkaus, Finland’s state-run gaming company, anticipates the conclusion of the UROS Live Arena project in the center of Tampere by December 2021. This includes the launch of their newest gambling establishment, Tampere Casino.
The venue’s design will be a collaborative effort involving a range of professionals, including Finnish interior designers and audiovisual and media specialists. A designated space for social gaming will introduce fresh offerings while upholding responsible gambling practices.
Current plans indicate that Tampere Casino will employ around 80 individuals, with recruitment commencing in stages early in 2021. The majority of employees will be engaged in customer service and will undergo specialized training, emphasizing the creation of an atmosphere that prioritizes social responsibility and customized customer interactions.
Veikkaus envisions the new casino as a “pioneer in the European casino landscape, a champion of responsible gambling environments, and a novel type of arena casino.”
These strategies involve putting into practice a fresh registration system that will furnish all patrons with compulsory account-based gaming and introducing novel responsible gambling instruments.
Veikkaus has recently advocated for the early implementation of mandatory customer authentication across its network, a system initially intended to be rolled out at its retail outlets in 2023. The operator declared last month that it would enact the measure in January 2021 at its own Feel Vegas and Pelaamo gaming venues as part of its endeavors to combat underage gambling.
Furthermore, from January onward, enrollment will be mandated to gamble when utilizing the operator’s decentralized slot machines in stores, kiosks, gas stations, and restaurants.
“Veikkaus’s casinos will be trailblazers in responsible gambling,” stated Sami Aho, General Manager of the Tampere Casino. “Verification provides our patrons with gaming control tools that they can utilize to manage their gaming, such as establishing game limits or opting to entirely prohibit gaming.”
Plans to introduce mandatory customer authentication have been in progress since 2019, with Veikkaus anticipating the plan to be put into effect at its existing Helsinki Casino in the spring of 2021, prior to the December opening of the Tampere Casino.
Presently, customers at the existing Helsinki Casino must sign up, and under the new measures, they will be required to present their casino card at all times before engaging in slot machines or table games.
The Finnish gambling establishment utilizes a distinct verification process compared to other Viasat gaming venues. These locations merely demand loyalty program participants to sign in prior to engaging in gameplay.
“Solely permanent inhabitants of Finland are eligible to join the loyalty program,” stated Tina Siltanen, the chief executive of the Helsinki Casino. “Our casino welcomes numerous international visitors, thus we cannot enforce identity verification tied to your Viasat account.”
