Lithuanias gaming income skyrocketed in the initial six months of this year, driven by robust expansion in internet gaming.
Overall gaming income in Lithuania reached €108.5 million in the first half of the year, a 21.5% jump compared to the same period last year. Internet gaming income accounted for €72.2 million, a 31.5% year-over-year increase. Meanwhile, brick-and-mortar gaming income expanded by 4.6% to €36.3 million.
Online slots were particularly robust in the Lithuanian gaming market during the first half of the year. Income from Class A online slots reached €45.5 million, a 37.5% year-over-year surge. Online Class B slots generated €1.8 million, a 28.6% rise. Internet sports betting income grew by 12.4% to €19 million. Remote desktop gaming income soared by 71.4% to €6 million.
Expansion in the land-based gaming sector was relatively sluggish. Class B slots were the primary income source for land-based gaming, generating €15.4 million, slightly higher than the €15.3 million recorded last year. Income from Class A slots increased by 21.0% to €7.5 million. Land-based table game income reached €8.8 million, an 11% increase.
In comparison to the previous year, income saw a rise of 4%. The only sector to experience a decrease in revenue was retail sports betting, which dropped by 4.1% to €4.7 million.
